RV Cover Design FAQs:

  • What are the installation site requirements? RV Covers can be installed on level Concrete, Asphalt, Gravel, or Dirt. The site must be level with at least 3′ of level or mostly level ground around the perimeter of the structure.
  • What width is right for my RV Cover? Widths start at 12′. Most RVs are about 8′ wide. RV Covers at least 18′ wide are recommended for any large RV. 18′ width allows for 5′ of space on each side for maneuvering the RV into the structure. This also allows for most slideouts to be extended while under the RV Cover. 20′-30′ widths can provide additional space under the RV cover for outdoor living area. If you’ll be living in the RV, plenty of covered exterior space is always a luxury for barbecues and relaxing in the shade.
  • What length is right for my RV Cover? Lengths start at 20′. Recommended length is typically 5′-10′ longer than your RV.
  • How tall should my RV Cover be?Height is the length of the support post or leg. Leg heights start at 6′, and go up to 20′. Since all RVs are 13’6″ or shorter in height, 14′ is typically the best height for large RVs as it is also the maximum height not requiring a telehandler machine for construction. At least 1′ of leg height over the tallest point on your RV is a good place to start. If there is sloping terrain at the entry or exit point of the RV Cover, it’s effect on height requirements should be considered when choosing your RV Cover’s height.
  • Color Choices:  A wide variety of color choices are available. We highly recommend visiting our 3D Design and Price tool to visualize your RV Cover’s color combination. You can choose colors for Roof, Trim, and Sides.
  • Can I Add Panels to Sides or Ends For Added Protection? Yes! Additional metal panels (3′ tall) or 1/2 panels (18″ tall) are often added at the top of the support posts or legs extending downward. These panels can add additional protection from sun, wind, and rain.
