Key Benefits Of Steel Garages

  • Superior Durability: Engineered with high-quality steel to withstand harsh weather, resist fire, and eliminate issues like termites and rot that plague wood structures.

  • Low Maintenance: Requires minimal upkeep over its lifespan, as steel does not warp, crack, or peel, saving you time and money on repairs.

  • Cost-Effective Value: Offers a more affordable alternative to traditional brick or wood construction with significantly faster installation times.

  • Fully Customizable: Easily tailored to your specific needs with flexible options for dimensions, roof styles, colors, and door placements.

  • Versatile Utility: Provides secure, enclosed protection that serves perfectly as a vehicle garage, hobby workshop, or expanded storage space.

Garage Design FAQs:

What are the installation site requirements? While carports can go on dirt, we highly recommend a concrete slab for fully enclosed garages to minimize moisture and condensation. The site must be level, with at least 3′ of work space around the perimeter. Note: If you are pouring a slab, please ask for our concrete specs first to ensure the proper dimensions for your metal frame.

What width should I choose?

  • 12′ – 18′ Wide: Best for single vehicles, tractors, or equipment storage.

  • 20′ – 24′ Wide: The standard for 2 vehicles. We recommend 24′ wide to allow car doors to open freely without dings.

  • 26′ – 30’+ Wide: Ideal for multiple vehicles plus shelving, workbenches, or ATV storage.

How tall should my Garage be? Garage height is measured by the “leg height” (side wall), not the peak.

  • The Rule of Thumb: Your leg height should be at least 1 foot taller than your garage door height.

  • Lift Requirements: If you plan to install a car lift, you will likely need a leg height of 12′ to 14′. Check your lift manufacturer’s specs before ordering!

Do I need insulation? For enclosed garages, yes. Metal buildings can “sweat” due to temperature differences. We recommend adding our DripStop, Therma-Guard, or fiberglass insulation to prevent condensation from dripping on your vehicles and to regulate the interior temperature.

Do I need a permit? Most counties require a permit for a permanent garage. We can provide Certified structures with engineer-stamped drawings (wind and snow load ratings) to help you breeze through the permitting process.

Can I customize doors and windows? Absolutely. You can place roll-up doors, walk-in doors, and windows on the ends or sides. Pro Tip: If you are building a workshop, add windows for cross-ventilation and natural light.
